1 Muckrakers: A term used in the Progressive Era to characterize U.S. journalists and other writers who exposed corruption in politics and business in the early 20 th Century. Example Upton Sinclair. Read “Tar Heel Talk” pp. 266-67 and answer Qs 1-5. Think globally or in the U.S. about political corruption or scandal etc. that needs the hand of a muckraker to bring it to public attention. Write a one page muckraking essay about the topic of your choice. Essay must be word processed 1 inch margins, double spaced, Times Roman 12 font and header with NTCD. Essay is due on 26/Feb by 11:59pm. Turn in essay on my Haiku Page using Dropbox. After finishing the test you may use your phone or a computer to research a topic for your essay.
