6 What Can We Do to Reduce Water Pollution? Properly dispose of pet waste, when walking your pet Reduce/eliminate the use of herbicides, fertilizers and pesticides on your lawn/farm Maintain your vehicle, to prevent leaks from running off into groundwater Avoid using salt to de-ice walkways Maintain septic system, to prevent leaks and contamination to ground water © The GlobalEd 2 Project
