15 Student First Program -Fall 2008, began practice of responding to requests within 24 hours at residence halls and apartments -87% of requests were responded to within 24 hours. Classroom First Program -Fall 2009, began practice of responding to requests within the first 48 hours in classrooms. -69% of requests were responded to within 48 hours.

Service Center sends WO to logistics to replace chairs and remove old Maintenance zone shop responds (End of Process) Set damaged chairs aside in classrooms Repairs ~ Before 8:00am or Friday’s (low usage periods) Set damaged chairs aside in classrooms For broken furniture such as tables, lecterns, podiums, regular or instructor chairs, please contact your respective departments.

25 Heating & Cooling Season Change Over The cooling season for campus is defined as April 15 through October 15. Buildings that are incapable of both cooling and heating simultaneously will be changed over from heating to cooling when temperatures are consistently over 70 degrees. The cooling season may extend beyond October 15 if unreasonably warm temperatures exist.

28 Landscape: Snow Removal Average snow fall in Kalamazoo: 72” per year 2008 /2009 - 126” of snow, 1,403 tons of salt used 2009 /2010 - 80” of snow, 1,184 tons of salt used 2010/2011 – 84” of snow, 1,184 tons of salt used Overall salt usage reduction - 35% from 2007/2008

29 Landscape: Fun Facts 26.5 lane miles of road 120+ acres of parking service lots 4 parking decks 39 miles of sidewalk 200,000 sq. ft. of ramps and entrance services 675 building entrances 1,184 tons of rock salt used average per year 6,000 gallon of beet juice There are 123.6 lane miles that need to be plowed and salted for each event. To put this in perspective; 123.6 lane miles is like driving from Kalamazoo to South Haven and back; then driving to South Haven and back to Kalamazoo again, for each winter weather event!
