Go to www.police.uk and type in your postcode.www.police.uk Clicking on the map on the right hand side of the page will show you how much crime and what types of crime have taken place in your local area. Record this information in a bar graph. You should go up “20 crimes” per line in your book. However if your home area has almost no crime then you should use SP1 1RD (St Edmunds post code) to draw your graph.

M14 4THwww.police.uk Clicking on the map on the right hand side of the page will show you how much crime and what types of crime have taken place in this area. Record this information in a bar graph. You should go up “20 crimes” per line in your book. (then you can easily compare the 2 graphs)

4. Bar Graph Checklist Both graphs have the same scale (20 crimes per line) Both have a title (and a key if needed) Both have labelled axis The bars in both are always the same width If all this is done then describe the differences between the two postcodes ONLY when all this is done do you shade the bars (use the same colour for each crime on each graph eg burglary is red on both, car crime yellow on both…)

5. Homework Look at the bar graphs you have made. Suggest 3 reasons why there is more crime in a big city like Manchester compared to a small city like Salisbury, presenting your ideas in a paragraph.
