2 VERSUS: Requirements for TEMPs and windprofilers VERSUS meeting, 04.03.2010, Langen (D) Requirements for TEMPs verification (1) Verification: for all 12h (wind alone also for all 6h) starting at +0h at surface and on the following p-levels: from 1000 to 850 hPa: for each 25 hPa from 850 to 100 hPa for each 50 hPa 70, 50 and 30 hPa wind direction only for wind speed > 3m/s MeteoSwiss can provide fortran-code for vertical interpolation onto p-levels and onto z-levels (subroutines inside fieldextra)

7 VERSUS: Requirements for TEMPs and windprofilers VERSUS meeting, 04.03.2010, Langen (D) Requirements for windprofiler verification (1) windprofilers (WP) run in two modes, in Switzerland: high mode: data from ~200m to ~8000 m above ground, for all 144m low mode: data from ~100m to ~2500 m above ground, for all 72m verification for all 30‘ (full hours and half hours) with the WP-data (temporal means of 30‘) at full hours +15‘ and +45‘ (WP at full hour +15‘ contains the data of the last 30‘) Verification on the following z-levels: high mode: on WP-levels or model-levels low mode: on WP-levels or model-levels
