Differential diagnosis Carcinoid tumor: uniform round cells, finely granular or stippled nuclear chromatin Adenocarcinoma of lung: clean mucoid back ground, increased N/C ratio, hyperchromasia or vesicular nuclei with prominent nucleoli Sclerosing hemangioma: epithelial-like tumor cells surrounding blood spaces, medium size with round or oval folded nuclei, finely reticular chromatin, dual cell population

16. - Majority of pulmonary sclerosing hemangiomas present as a solitary pulmonary nodule, whereas multiple lesions are reported to account for 4% of all cases.
