Summer School Options 2014 Texas Virtual School Network Fully accredited by Texas Education Agency Endorsed by State Board of Education and written into Texas Education Code Courses approved for use by NCAA Texas Tech ISD Fully accredited by Texas Education Agency Courses NOT approved for use by NCAA

Summer School Options 2014 Texas Virtual School Network Regular direct contact with a teacher (online) Taught by fully certified Texas teachers Specific start date and end date to course (early June – early August) Texas Tech ISD Entirely self-paced, no regular contact with teacher Taught by fully certified Texas teachers 6-month window to complete

Summer School Options 2014 Why not other courses? – associated assessments (STAAR or AP) – not enough time to complete 1.0 credit courses in shortened summer school semester – success rates – online learning environment is different

Summer School Options 2014 Next Steps: Download forms (starting tomorrow morning): – AHS site – Daniel NGC site – AMS site Forms will require completion of an online assessment and teacher recommendation

Summer School Options 2014 Next Steps: Submit completed forms to Scott Kessel either via fax or email attachment Scott Kessel will complete enrollment for TxVSN courses Scott Kessel will contact those wishing to do TTUISD courses on next enrollment steps

Summer School Options 2014 Next Steps: Sooner will be better for submitting forms, especially for TxVSN – When their enrollment is full, courses will close – Most enrollment opens on May 1 – Money will be paid to Aledo ISD
