Core·Quality Full Understanding and Analysis of Customer Pain Points Using UTA Scenario Design Use UTA to design the documentation outline, effectively addressing customer pain points ScenarioRoleWork ScopeCustomer Pain Points Network performance monitoring Network monitoring engineers Set threshold alarms, implement daily KPI monitoring, output performance statistical reports, and issue weekly/monthly reports. 1.IMS does not have a mature KPI system to provide a reference for the customer to construct a KPI system. 2.The IMS KPI system customization principles are not clear. 3.The experience in monitoring KPIs for major operations (such as upgrade) is inherited by word of mouth. That is, there is no mature baseline for monitoring KPIs. 4.The baseline and precautions for setting threshold alarms and customizing KPIs are not clear. 5.The performance visualization tool is not widely used. The promotion of this tool is insufficient. Daily check & prevention O&M engineers Perform daily check and preventive maintenance. The daily check guide in the product CPI is comprehensive, and the customer feedback on this guide is OK. Daily performance optimization Network optimization engineers Implement data collection, data analysis, troubleshooting, and verification. 1.Little experience in locating and analyzing performance problems and optimizing the network is provided to the customer. 2.The O&M experience on newly deployed networks is insufficient and there is little O&M experience for the customer to draw from. 3.The relationship between network, NE, and device KPIs is not clearly defined, increasing the difficulties for locating problems. Network performance improvement Network optimization engineers Evaluate the network, determine the network optimization scope, and formulate, optimize, and verify the network optimization scheme. 1.There is no mature method to systematically evaluate IMS. 2.Huawei guides the customer on how to collect and analyze data through field engineers' expertise. The O&M and network optimization experience is not effectively passed on to the customer. Network trend decision Carriers Reduce costs, increase brand value, learn the traffic and KPI change trends, and determine whether to enable network appraisal and optimization. IMS optimization stays on the network quality level. End user perception experience cannot be effectively improved, and customer satisfaction cannot be improved. Implement UTA-based scenario analysis to hit customer pain points.

Core·Quality Performance Management Threshold alarms and network KPI modeling Vivid presentation of network KPI modeling Detailed presentation of KPI threshold alarms, providing a better reference for user operations. In the network deployment and monitoring phases, setting KPI threshold alarms is essential. However, setting KPI threshold alarms involves setting KPIs and proper thresholds, which totally depends on engineers' O&M experience. Now, a new version of the IMS Performance Management manual is introduced to describe typical KPI threshold alarm settings from customer-specific details such as trigger conditions, offset, alarm severity, performance measurement period, and deployment suggestions, which clears any setting hindrances. In the IMS Performance Management manual, there are many such vivid presentations, facilitating easy understanding and memorization. Provide customer-specific details such as trigger conditions, offset, alarm severity, performance measurement period, and deployment suggestions, to clear any setting hindrances
21
Core·Quality Visualized and Scenario-based Scenario-based visualized statistical reports; scenario-based network KPIs Scenario-based visualized statistical reports deliver a direct and vivid description. The statistical reports displayed by the visualization tool are totally based on site-specific data reports, enabling users to have a clear understanding of measurement items. To provide better guidance on how to apply network KPIs during network upgrade and capacity expansion, the IMS Performance Management manual provides a baselined guide for the upgrade and capacity expansion scenarios. The guide includes the operational flow, check items, and check criteria, against which users can perform operations at ease. Scenario-based network KPIs organize user operations around scenarios.
22
Core·Quality KPI Correlation and Typical KPI Evaluation & Analysis Layered presentation of KPI correlation relationships, facilitating quick problem location Typical KPI evaluation & analysis, suiting the site-specific application environment The IMS product documentation does not describe these relationships, causing the difficulties in quickly locating performance problems. Now, the IMS Performance Management manual clearly describes these relationships, troubleshooting principles, and problem location methods, which facilitates quick problem location. IMS KPI abnormalities mainly lie in the following types: registration, call connection, and call connection delay. In IMS Performance Counter Reference, only basic information such as the performance measurement formula is provided but the methods of resolving KPI abnormalities are not. Now, the IMS Performance Management manual describes how to resolve KPI abnormalities related to registration, call connection, and call connection delay.

Core·Quality Ensuring the integrity and practicability of contents Scenario analysis made after many interviews to ensure manual structure practicability Complete and practical navigation Scenario-based Navigation One scenario for each page ScenarioRoleResponsibilityPaint Points Network risk identification Front-line technical support personnel and customer Identify network risks, including risks brought by product quality, inappropriate network design policy, network capability limits, specification restrictions, license management, spare part management, and critical known issues. 1. Unfamiliar with network information. 2. Lack of network risk management Formulating an emergency plan Front-line technical support personnel and customer Formulate an emergency plan as follows: 1. Customize a common emergency plan based on the networking and features at the site. 2. Prepare emergency scripts based on the site's actual situation. 1. The common emergency plan does not provide helpful guidance. 2. Frequent personnel transfer results in poor technical capability. 3. Front-line engineers are not sure about contents to be delivered to the customer. Emergency drill Front-line technical support personnel and customer Perform periodical emergency drills on information collection, remote dialing, and Huawei and customer emergency personnel's response promptness. 1. An emergency drill mechanism verifying the practicability of a Huawei emergency plan in the case of a major accident is unavailable. 2. Fault scenarios are difficult to produce. The existing drills targets the verification of procedure and organization and fail to test the maintenance personnel's capability in handling actual emergencies. Reporting an accident Front-line technical support personnel and customer The customer identifies a network fault and contacts Huawei technical support for handling. The front-line technical support engineers determines the accident severity based on the impact of the fault, response time in the SLA, and troubleshooting urgency and reports the severity to GTAC. Some front-line engineers cannot distinguish between an accident and a fault, resulting in delay in reporting of some accidents and troubleshooting. Arranging personnel Front-line technical support, GTAC, R&D, and maintenance personnel, and customer Organize an emergency handling team by arranging front-line engineers, GTAC, R&D owners, and customer contact person and obtain accident information from the front-line engineers. Some front-line engineers are not familiar with the troubleshooting procedure and responsibility assignment, resulting in delay in accident handling. Other scenarios...
