In 1665 Jan Sobieski married Maria Kazimiera d’Arquien. She was his great love. They had together 15 children. The king built for his wife a beautiful palace in Wilanów near Warsaw.

In 10 July of 1683 Turkish army of the Ottoman Empire started the siege of Vienna. Whole Europe was under threat of Turkish expansion. The battle was a turning point, after which the Ottoman Empire’s expansion in Europe came to its end.
