www.thechopras.com Funding Requirements Tuition Fees and Living Costs Tuition Fees Per Annum: Undergraduate: £11400-15,000 Postgraduate: £12200 and above Doctoral Degree: £13000 Living Costs: According to UKVI, Living costs (including accommodation, books, food, travel, telephone, and accommodation) : London: minimum £1000/month Rest of UK: minimum £800/month

www.thechopras.com From 6 th April 2015 the only SELT will be IELTS and it will only be valid if taken at a specifically UKVI approved IELTS testing centre This UKVI IELTS is mandatory for all courses which are below NQF level 6. (Degree level) Those with a valid SELT taken before 6th April (which includes the PTE and IELTS taken from a non-UKVI approved centre) can use their certificates for visa applications until 5th November. The universities however, can make their own assessment of a student’s English proficiency for degree level students and above. (NQF Level 6). Hence many universities will continue to accept scores from IELTS, PTE, and TOEFL for courses that are at NQF Level 6 and above. New English Language Requirements

www.thechopras.com Student visa updates From 14th April 2015 students applying for a visa to the UK will be issued with a vignette (sticker) in their passport which will be valid for 30 days. The 30 days will start from the date entered on the visa application form as the intended travel date to the UK. The student must travel within these 30 days or the vignette will expire and another application will need to be made. The 30-day vignette will be accompanied by a letter stating the nominated post office where the student will be given their Biometric Residence Permit which acts as their permission to stay in the UK for the duration of their course. This process must be completed within 10 days of arriving in the UK. Biometric Residence Permit

www.thechopras.com Student visa updates From 6th April a health surcharge comes into effect for all UK bound students studying on a course of 6 months or longer. The charge will also apply to dependents. The charge is compulsory and the total fee (calculated on the duration of the visa)must be paid up-front, at the time of filing the visa The NHS Charge will be collected as part of the visa application process The fee will be 150 GBP per year for students The visa application will be refused if the NHS Charge is not paid. The fee will be automatically refunded in the case of a visa rejection. It will not however be refunded if students depart the UK early or if they do not use the NHS during their time in the UK.
