Warmup: A time to get your minds focused on math by doing grade level math A time to “practice and reinforce” math

Questions A time to go over the warmup or the previous night’s homework (e.g. correct it) and/or ask specific questions when you got something wrong OR need a specific clarification about the work you did

Notebook Rules BRING TO YOUR MATH CLASS: 2-4 sharpened pencils & eraser Felt tipped pen (except for black, no ball point pens, gel pens, or permanent markers) Colored pencils Highlighter Scissors Gluestick Ruler 1-70 page spiral notebook (for MATH NOTEBOOK) Student binder & lined notebook paper Student planner Math textbook (update from handout: stays in math classroom with Homework & Remembering)

Notebook Rules 1.Count out FIVE (5) pages. 2.Using your felt-tipped pen, label each side A, B, C, D, E, F,… 3.Using your ruler start creating a table for your TOC entries. (teacher will model)

1.Count out the next 5 pages. Use your felt-tipped pen & ruler to copy the chart below on both sides of the 5 pages. The date column should be the left of the (red) margin line The page# column should be the far right column Use letters to label the pages of the TOC 2.You may use more than one line in the title column to describe the entry. Just align the date & page# to each entry. Getting Started: The Title Page You may now go back and personalize your title page. Your title page should have the following: A cool title for the notebook: ex. Marvelous Math!! Your name: (self-explanatory) The year: 2012 – 2013 At least 4 Pictures of Math type stuff
