PURPOSE : To enhance knowledge of the Tudor era, particularly the importance of Shakespeare and the significance of Mary Arden. To have the opportunity to learn more about William Shakespeare and watch one of his famous plays performed by the RSC. Attend the MAD Museum and experience a highly interactive educational visit through thought-provoking, unique and entertaining learning. Independence skills – organisation, thinking for themselves

Stratford Upon Avon Youth Hostel Accommodation We have the whole of the top floor exclusively to ourselves. Pack lunches are prepared by the hostel and the children will get a choice of sandwiches. Any dietary requirements then please let us know – Form C. (E.g. Vegetarian, vegan, dairy or gluten free, nut allergy) Games room and outside area available during our stay. All bedding is provided but children will need to bring their own towels.

WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE? “BRILLIANT!” Superb choice Shakespeare himself couldn't function without a delicious breakfast, so fill up with our hot and cold buffet. We serve Full English options, hot drinks, plentiful toast and cold treats too.

WHERE ARE THEY SLEEPING? Good quality small dormitories with bunk beds and teachers on the same floor! Don’t worry, we will make sure they sleep well every evening!!! And there are 4 members of staff on the trip!!!

WHICH ACTIVITIES ARE WE DOING? As you will have seen from the itinerary we have a busy and exciting trip ahead of us: Wednesday – Visit to Mary Arden’s House and Tudor farm. Thursday – Attending the RSC where they will attend a workshop. Visit the local area of Stratford Upon Avon. Friday – Visit to the MAD museum, an interactive exhibits of mechanical art and design.

POINTS TO NOTE Please ensure children have the correct clothing, particularly comfortable footwear and a warm, waterproof coat. Snacks/sweets are allowed but must not be kept in the dormitory, so must be brought in a named carrier bag and given to Mr Bonner (for safe keeping!!!) on the morning of departure. They really won’t need much… The same procedure for any money taken – hand to Mr Bonner in a named purse or wallet. PLEASE DROP OFF BAGS AT COMMUNITY CENTRE FROM 8.10AM ON WEDNESDAY MORNING – CHILDREN TO COME IN SCHOOL WITH BAG FOR COACH (PACKED LUNCH/GAMES – no electronic devices) All medication MUST be given to Mr Bonner (including inhalers) A disposable camera will be provided for every child.
