1. Design: Plan in detail Get the analysis document from this folder. There are two GCSE ICT tasks in unit 2: Power Point for the garden centre and Database of plants in the garden centre For each task, create a design which shows: – Drawn design plans (hand drawn or computer) Show the important parts of the things you plan to build Show the colour schemes, font sizes etc. An explanation of why you have chosen the design elements, linked to the analysis criteria. – Create a Test plan (A sample test plan is in this folder from the exam board for computing which you may find helpful). 2. Build: Show the stages You need to show the examiner HOW you are using the software (skills) as well as what you make in the end, for both tasks. Things that you could screen shot for the database include: Setting up the database and the reports Key parts of your work and how you achieved them Also show all the things the user has asked for (see the analysis). This is not a list – it is up to you to show the work you have done. The marks for annotation are given for how well you explain WHY you have done something and how you did it. Be as clear as possible. Marks for: Skills Evidence Annotation

3. Test In Step 1 you created a test plan … now you must prove that you have used it. It’s entirely up to you how you show your testing. Make it clear so that the examiner can give you the marks in this section. See the exam board example work in this folder Marks for: Testing Evidence

4. Self Evaluation Using the analysis criteria, write: a statement about how well you have met each criteria Why the user will be happy (or not) What you would do differently (if you needed to improve this part) Why you would do it differently (and how you would do this) Do this for ALL of the criteria Marks for: Being Honestly reflective about your work

6. Report Using the CA booklet, you were asked to report on some ideas that the user had about making the system even better. You must find out how to write a formal report Make a report in a formal layout which: Identifies the issues that the user has Give your recommendations on how the issue might be solved Marks for: Issues Recommendation

7. Peer Evaluation Before starting this task, HAND IN your work! Using the analysis criteria, write: a statement about how well your friend has met each criteria Why the user will be happy (or not) What your friend could do differently (if they need to improve this part) Why they should do it differently Do this for ALL of the criteria Marks for: Being Honestly reflective about a friends work
