HOW TO REPLACE A STRING ON A GUITAR http://www.daddario.com/DADMediaLibrary.Page?MediaId=31&MediaName=How_t o_Restring_a_Classical_Guitar&sid=e14ced0b-6538-4725-8911-b8b5a0b58c43 OR http://www.acousticguitar.com/News-Features/DIY-Guitar-Maintenance/Restringing- Tips In summary: 1.Remove the ‘old’ string from the guitar (if it’s not already missing…) 2.Thread the new string through the holes near the bridge 3.Secure it to the bridge by using the loop- de- loop (see video) 4.Thread the new string through the hole at the tuning pegs 5.Use the loop- de- loop to secure the string 6.Then rotate the tuning peg until the string is no longer loose

KEEPING IT FRESH ‘N CLEAN! Wipe the fret board (vigorously) and the strings (gently) to remove dirt and grime from playing the instrument Tuners may also be wiped for disinfecting purposes NEVER put anything into the sound hole The body may be wiped shiny using a soft, microfiber cloth. Never use a wood furniture polish on your instrument (although guitar- specific polishes are acceptable to use on your guitar at home) I’m so happy I keep my guitar clean!
4
STORING THE INSTRUMENT Store the instrument in a case at a comfortable room temperature Never leave instruments in a walking path or anywhere out of reach (because the instrument could fall…) Never leave an instrument in the car because of the extreme heat and humidity (water in the air) changes Good thing I don’t leave my instrument on a walking path. This elephant might stomp on it!

HUMIDITY- WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?? Humidity has to do with the amount of water or moisture in the air Guitars should be kept between 40%- 55% humidity Our instruments are made of wood, so when exposed to lots of water, they soak it in When they lack water they become dry and can easily crack Think about your skin or a door in the winter verses in the summer, same concept with guitars
