Radio Console System Upgrade Why do we need to upgrade the Motorola Centracom Gold Console System? -It operates on Windows XP, which is now obsolete? -It has run 24/7 since it was purchased in 2005, generating a lot of use and therefore wear on the system -In 2009, the company that makes the system stopped expanding it (in other words, they no longer made upgrades to the system) -In 2018, the company will no longer supply parts to the system. Public Safety Communications System Upgrades Why do we need to update the Software? -We need to upgrade the 800MHz Trunking System 7.4 to the 7.14 (or latest) version, which is IP-based. -Keeping our current level of integration between the console system and the communications system -Double our radio call capacity Jimmie Taggart, E-911 Communications Systems Manager

Public Safety Communications System Upgrades Why do we need to update the Infrastructure? -The Trupoint 5000 modems, which are located at each remote site, were discontinued in 2010 -In June 2011, it was reclassified to maintenance only (they are down until repaired). -Dec. 31, 2020- repair and return support ends Jimmie Taggart, E-911 Communications Systems Manager
