The Tacoma TRANSLOAD Advantage Transloading Facility 24 transload facilities within 3 miles of Port of Tacoma terminals; Over 40 locations in the South Puget Sound Designated heavy haul corridor to expedite movement of overweight containers between Port terminals and transload facilities Favorable drayage rates 1,2 to major regional transload centers Regular domestic rail service via TAC-SIM yard to the Midwest, East Coast, California, the Southeast (soon serving the Southwest) Variety of drayage companies to choose from Three 40’ international containers can be transloaded into two 53’ domestic containers 3 1)Rates are zone specific (city-to-city, not terminal-to-terminal) 2)Additional fuel surcharges and stand-by times (if exceeding trucker free time) are not included 3)Source: TTX
