LYRA Calibration Status I. E. Dammasch, ROB/SIDC PROBA2 Science Working Team Meeting ROB, Brussels, Belgium, 24 Jun 2013 LYRA the Large-Yield Radiometer onboard PROBA2

What was achieved ? Degradation estimate update for unit 2 Degradation estimate for units 3 and 1 (preliminary) 1 AU correction Level 2 conversion routine for unit 3 (preliminary) Cross-calibration: Unit 3 in good / very good agreement with unit 2

What is ahead ? Smoothed and corrected degradation estimates for units 3 and 1 Level 2 conversion routines for units 3 and 1 Flagging of suspicious data Removing part of these data in LYRA online images Cross-calibration with other instruments Periodic updates and reprocessing

“Nominal” unit 2 Remaining response after 1053 days: ch2-1 < 0.5% ch2-3 7% ch2-4 56% (Comparison for ch2-3 and ch2-4 now based on ch1-4)

“Campaign” unit 3 Remaining response after 964 hours: ch3-1 67% ch3-1 31% ch3-3 38% ch3-4 83% (Comparison for ch3-3 and ch3-4 now based on ch1-4) (preliminary)

“Spare” unit 1 Remaining response after 90 hours: ch1-1 53% ch1-1 77% ch1-3 ~100% ch1-4 ~100% (preliminary)

Possible cause of degradation

Other projects: Correlation of flares with long-term irradiance and sunspot levels

Other projects: Lyman-alpha flare signatures
