4 When FSH 5109.17 changes or is updated, what happens? Example 1 - Individual completes required training for RXB2, TB is issued May 03, FSH 5109.17 new issuance July 03 requires additional training, what happens? Reference FSH 5109.17, Section 22, Paragraph 5

5 continued Example 2 - Individual completes required training for RXB2, TB is issued May 02, FSH, has TB evaluations completed except for one last evaluation assignment to compete TB however there is a new issuance of FSH 5109.17 that requires additional training, what happens? Reference FSH 5109.17, Section 22, Paragraph 5

6 Emphasis on Redcard committee review of RXB2 and 1 task books Complete all required (level 1) training before task book is issued. Final evaluator provides recommendation for certification. Redcard committee reviews task book, and makes recommendation for certification. Recommendation should be in writing using training certification form used by Incident training Specialists

7 Complexity rating Rx fire complexity analysis rates burns as high, moderate or low; how does that equate to RXB1, RXB2, & RXB3 burn bosses. R8 5140.31 Section 9, draft states –Low=RXB3 or higher –Moderate=RXB2 or higher –High=RXB1 or Fire Use Manager

8 Minimum Qualifications for Preparation, Technical Review, Approval, and Execution of Prescribed Fire Burn Plans Complexity Level LowModerateHigh AuthorRxB2 RxPL Technical ReviewerRxB2RxB1 Approval Forest Supervisor, or District Rangers to whom the authority has been individually delegated by the Forest Supervisor. 10 Taskbook Critique 1.Completed task book submitted to Unit Redcard Certification committee along with certification written recommendation form unit and final evaluator. 2.RC committee reviews candidates training and experience records 3.Certifies or makes written recommendation for additional assignments or training.
