29 CyberAgent in Japan Builds a New-Generation Internet Platform with Huawei Servers
Challenges The power supply to each DC cabinet in the data center equipment room provides the maximum capacity of 10 kVA, which fails to meet cabinet power requirements. Existing IT devices are deployed on the IPv6 network. Therefore, new servers added to the live network must also support the IPv6 protocol. Services need to frequently access the background database. The storage devices, such as HDDs and SAS SSDs cannot meet I/O requirements. More-efficient storage devices are required. Huawei's Solution Huawei offers a solution that combines 1U 2-socket RH1288 V2 rack servers with ES3000 PCIe SSDs. Powered by Intel E5-2630L low-power processors, the Huawei RH1288 V2 server achieves an optimum balance between power consumption and deployment density. The RH1288 V2 supports IPv6. Its BMC management module supports IPv6 NCSI, and is therefore compatible with the O&M tools on the live network. The high-performance ES3000 PCIe SSD provides 770,000 read IOPS. Its I/O performance test result is much higher than those of similar devices from other vendors, such as Fusion-io.
