9 Drug Distribution Activities / Time Frames  SOP for labeling and dispensing In process  Specifications are being drawn up for the ‘tracker system’ In process  Generic norm, standards and SOP that cover the Drug Supply Management Chain have been distributed

16 Pharmacovigilance  Deputy Director has been appointed  Workshop scheduled February 2004  NDOH met with 2 pharmacovigilance units in Bloemfontein & Medunsa

18 Outstanding Activities:  Discussions on a strategy to involve the private sector, mining industry and other sectors providing health care  Initiate discussions with Medical AID Schemes on revision of prescribed minimum benefit package  Follow-up discussions with Department of Correctional Services on provision of health in prisons  Full report on outcome of accreditation process
