We are currently running the national stages of our GREAT Faces of British Business competition in association with BT Business to find the most innovative and exciting small and medium sized businesses across the UK. We would really appreciate your support in engaging your network members to vote for their favourite local businesses. We hope this toolkit provides you with tips on how to get the best out of your promotion in addition to an image which can be used across different social media channels. 4. 4 About the competition The Business is GREAT campaign and BT Business teamed up in October to launch the GREAT Faces of British Business competition. It was designed to champion these businesses and to showcase the Government’s growth support for small firms and businesses. There are three categories: Best exporter Most innovative small business Best growth story The regional stage of the competition received a staggering response, with more than 520 entries received and 100 pieces of press coverage so far in addition to high levels of engagement on social media. 4

5. 5 About the competition The entries were assessed by a judging panel consisting of representatives from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), UKTI and BT Business. The regional winners are now competing to be named the UK winner in one of the three categories. There will also be one business named the Grand Prix winner and will be featured in a Business is GREAT advertising campaign. Public voting will begin on 26 January and will finish on the 23 February. The winners will be chosen based on the number of public votes received and also by a scoring process from a national panel of judges. 5
