Ch 1.6 CLASSIFY POLYGONS
2
In this section we will… Look at what makes something a polygon. Identify polygons by their sides and angles Identify polygons by concave and convex Apply algebraic problems to the geometric facts
3
What is a polygon? A polygon is a shape with at least 3 straight closed sides that do not cross over each other.
4
Remember these? Sides of a polygon are the straight lines that create the polygon. The vertices of a polygon are where the sides meet.
5
Convex VS Concave Convex polygons are polygons where all the vertices point outward. Concave polygons are polygons where at least one vertex points inward.
7
Are you equilateral, equiangular, regular, or none? Equilateral polygons have sides that are all of the same length. (All sides are of equal length) Equiangular polygons have angles that are all if the same angle measure. (All angles are the same measure) Regular polygons are both equilateral and equiangular.

What is it?

Let’s apply some algebra

Assuming that the polygon is regular, find x.
