Crown him the son of God Before the worlds began And ye who tread where He hath trod Crown Him the son of man Who every grief hath known That wrings the human breast And takes and bears it for His own That all in Him might rest

Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o’er the grave And rose victorious in the strife For those He came to save: His glories now we sing, Who died and rose on high, Who died eternal life to bring And lives that death may die.

Jesus anointed at Bethany 12 Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2 Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honour. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. 3 Then Mary took about half a litre of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, 5 ‘Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.[a]’ 6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. 7 ‘Leave her alone,’ Jesus replied. ‘It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. 8 You will always have the poor among you,[b] but you will not always have me.’

This is the Word of the Lord Praise to you, O Christ. Sermon

829 The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you. Let us share a sign of His peace

TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE Consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands, and let them move At the impulse of Thy love; Take my feet, and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee.

And I will love the Lord my God With all my heart and soul and strength And I will love you with my mind, With all my truth and all my time With all my heart and soul and strength

Take my voice, and let me sing Always, only, for my King; Take my lips, and let them be Filled with messages from Thee. Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold; Take my intellect, and use Every power as Thou shalt choose.

And I will love the Lord my God With all my heart and soul and strength And I will love you with my mind, With all my truth and all my time With all my heart and soul and strength

Take my will, and make it Thine; It shall be no longer mine: Take my heart, it is Thine own; It shall be Thy royal throne. Take my love; my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its treasure store: Take myself, and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee.

And I will love the Lord my God With all my heart and soul and strength And I will love you with my mind, With all my truth and all my time With all my heart and soul and strength Frances Ridley Havergal.

The Lord be with you and also with you. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give thanks and praise.

It is always right to give you thanks, God our Creator, loving and faithful, holy and strong. You made us and the whole universe, and filled your world with lif e.

You sent your Son to live among us, Jesus our Saviour, Mary's child. He suffered on the cross; he died to save us from our sins; he rose in glory from the dead.

You send your Spirit to bring new life to the world, and clothe us with power from on high. And so we join the angels to celebrate and sing :

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna Hosanna Hosanna in the highest.

Father, on the night before he died, Jesus shared a meal with his friends. He took the bread, and thanked you. He broke it, and gave it to them, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this to remember me.

After the meal, Jesus took the cup of wine. He thanked you, and gave it to them, saying: Drink this, all of you. This is my blood, the new promise of God's unfailing love. Do this to remember me

Jesus Christ has died. Jesus Christ has died. Jesus Christ is risen. Jesus Christ is risen. Jesus Christ will come again. Jesus Christ will come again.

Father, as we bring this bread and wine, and remember his death and resurrection, send your Holy Spirit, that we who share these gifts may be fed by Christ's body and his blood.

Pour your Spirit on us that we may love one another, work for the healing of the earth, and share the good news of Jesus, as we wait for his coming in glory.

For honour and praise belong to you, Father, with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit: one God, for ever and ever. Glory, Glory, Glory to the Lord, Glory to the Lord God Almighty Who was, and is, and is to come. Glory Glory Glory to the Lord.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen

We break this bread To share in the body of Christ Though we are many, we are one body Because we all share in one bread.

Jesus, Lamb of God You take away the sins of the world. Have mercy, have mercy, Jesus have mercy on us. Jesus, bearer of our sins Have mercy on us. Jesus, redeemer of the world Grant us your peace.

Jesus says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”

1030 BROKEN FOR ME, broken for you, The body of Jesus, broken for you. He offered His body, He poured out His soul; Jesus was broken, that we might be whole:

1030 BROKEN FOR ME, broken for you, The body of Jesus, broken for you. He offered His body, He poured out His soul; Jesus was broken, that we might be whole:

596 WHEN I SURVEY THE WONDROUS CROSS On which the Prince of glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in the death of Christ my God: All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down: Did e’er such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown??

Issac Watts Were the whole realm of Nature mine, That were an offering far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all!

Father of all,we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory.

May we who share Christ's body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

ABBA FATHER

May the peace of God go with you Wherever he may send you. May he guide you through the wilderness, Protect you from the storm. May he bring you home rejoicing At the wonders he has shown you. May he bring you home rejoicing Once again into our doors May he bring you home rejoicing Once again into our doors.

921 Go in love, joy and peace to serve the Lord and all his children. In the name of Christ. Ame n.
