WELCOME SENTENCE OF THE DAY Christ our Passover has been Sacrificed for us; therefore let us keep the feast. The Lord is risen indeed, alleluia! 1 Corinthians 5.7–8
5
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia! our triumphant holy day, Alleluia! who so lately on the cross Alleluia! suffered to redeem our loss, Alleluia!
6
Hymns of praise then let us sing Alleluia! unto Christ, our heavenly king, Alleluia! who endured the cross and grave Alleluia! sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
7
But the pain that He endured Alleluia! our salvation has procured; Alleluia! now exalted He is King, Alleluia! and the angels ever sing: Alleluia! Anon. Lyra Davidica 1708

‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ Jesus said: ‘This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’
10
Christ our Passover Lamb has been offered for us, therefore we come to celebrate the festival. Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, with a sincere and a true heart.
11
Merciful God, our maker and our judge, we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, and in what we have failed to do: we have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves; we repent, and are sorry for all our sins. Father, forgive us. Strengthen us to love and obey you in newness of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
14
you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
15
God of glory, fill your Church with the power that flows from Christ’s resurrection, that, in the midst of this sinful world, it may signal the beginning of a renewed humanity, raised to new life with Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us: so let us celebrate the feast, Not with the old leaven of corruption and wickedness: but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth Christ once raised from the dead dies no more: death has no more dominion over him. In dying he died to sin once for all: in living he lives to God.
19
See yourselves therefore as dead to sin: and alive to God in Jesus Christ our Lord. Christ has been raised from the dead: the first fruits of those who sleep. For as by one man came death: by another has come also resurrection of the dead; For as in Adam all die: even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

A Reading from John Chapter 20, Verses 1-18 Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ For the Gospel of the Lord, Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
29
Let us together affirm the faith of the Church: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.
30
On the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
32
Accept our prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3.16

OFFERTORY HYMN In Christ Alone
36
In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my Light, my Strength, my Song; This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.
37
In Christ alone! Who took on flesh; Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied; for every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live.
38
There in the ground his body lay; Light of the world by darkness slain; Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me; For I am His and He is mine – bought with the precious blood of Christ.
39
No guilt in life, no fear in death – This is the power of Christ in me; From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from his hand; Till He returns or calls me home, here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand. Words & music by Keith Getty & Stewart Townend
41
We give you thanks and praise for your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, who by the power of your Spirit was born of Mary and lived as one of us. He is the true Paschal Lamb who was offered for us and has taken away the sin of the world. And now we give you thanks that you raised him in triumph from the dead. By his death, he has destroyed death and by his rising to life again has restored us to eternal life.
42
Therefore with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we proclaim your great and glorious name, for ever praising you and saying: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
43
Holy God, we thank you for these gifts of your creation, this bread and wine, and we pray that we who eat and drink them in obedience to our Saviour Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, may be partakers of his body and blood, and be made one with him and with each other in peace and love. On the night he was betrayed Jesus took bread; and when he had given you thanks he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take, eat. This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’
44
After supper, he took the cup, and again giving you thanks he gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Drink from this, all of you. This is my blood of the new covenant shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.‘ Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.
45
Therefore we do as our Saviour has commanded: proclaiming his offering of himself made once for all upon the cross, his mighty resurrection and glorious ascension, and looking for his coming again, we celebrate, with this bread and this cup, his one perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. As we eat and drink this holy sacrament, renew us by your Spirit that we may be united in the body of your Son and serve you as a royal priesthood in the joy of your eternal kingdom.
46
Receive our praises, Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, with whom and in whom, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship you in songs of never-ending praise: Blessing and honour and glory and power are yours for ever and ever. Amen.
47
We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. We who are many are one body, for we all share in the one bread.
48
The gifts of God for the people of God. Come let us take this holy sacrament of the body and blood of Christ in remembrance that he died for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Communion Hymn: The Power of the Cross.
51
Oh, to see the dawn Of the darkest day: Christ on the road to Calvary. Tried by sinful men, Torn and beaten, then Nailed to a cross of wood. CHORUS: This, the pow'r of the cross: Christ became sin for us; Took the blame, bore the wrath— We stand forgiven at the cross.
52
Oh, to see the pain written on Your face, bearing the awesome weight of sin. Ev'ry bitter thought, ev'ry evil deed crowning Your bloodstained brow. Now the daylight flees; now the ground beneath quakes as its Maker bows His head. Curtain torn in two, dead are raised to life; "Finished!" the vict'ry cry.
53
Oh, to see my name Written in the wounds, For through Your suffering I am free. Death is crushed to death; Life is mine to live, Won through Your selfless love. FINAL CHORUS: This, the pow'r of the cross: Son of God—slain for us. What a love! What a cost! 54
Most glorious Lord of life, we thank you that you nourish us in these Easter mysteries. Fill us with the Spirit of love and unite us in faith, that we may witness to the resurrection and show your glory to all the world. Amen
55
Most loving God, you send us into the world you love. Give us grace to go thankfully and with courage in the power of your Spirit.
56
The God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you what is pleasing in his sight; and the blessing of god almighty; the father, the son, and the holy spirit, be among you and remain with you always. Amen
58
I serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today; I know that He is living, whatever men may say. I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer; and just the time I need Him, He's always near.
59
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.
60
In all the world around me I see His loving care, and though my heart grows weary I never will despair; I know that He is leading, through all the stormy blast, the day of His appearing will come at last.
61
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives, Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.
62
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find, none other is so loving, so good and kind.
