HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US Romans 6:1-14

THE CELEBRATION OF THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST… Is a historical event, but it’s more than that… – It’s God’s triumph over sin, death and Hell. It’s a Hope of Life beyond death but it’s more… – It’s the restoration of Eternal Life in the present It is proof that Jesus was God, but it’s more… – It’s the fulfillment of God’s promise to redeem and restore the fallen creature to fellowship with his Creator and a life of holiness

Something is wrong We don’t feel good – Something’s missing – We feel guilty – We are afraid to fail again We can’t fix ourselves – We have a dark side – How could anyone love us? We can’t seem to fix our world. – There is evil & injustice

The Good God has acted on our behalf in the death and resurrection of Jesus And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. --Eph 2:6-9

The Holy God the Son became one of us in the flesh Sinful Self The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy – Jn 10:10a I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. -- Jn 10:10b

6 By Grace God has made a provision for us Needed to be: Holy Infinite Eternal

Jesus, as infinite and holy, died in our place on the cross Sinful Self My Sin God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God – 1 Cor 5:21

8 A Miracle of Salvation Results Sinful Self Alive in Christ Confess Repent Believe Receive By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. -- 1 Cor 6:14

The apostle Paul assures us of this When we drink the cup of blessing, aren't we taking into ourselves the blood, the very life, of Christ? And isn't it the same with the loaf of bread we break and eat? Don't we take into ourselves the body, the very life, of Christ? -- 1 Cor 10:16 The Message

Enjoying Life WITH Him Comfortable in His presence Reflecting His Glory Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. --2 Co 5:17-19.

Once I am made ALIVE in Christ… I have the privilege of… Nurturing ETERNAL LIFE – Daily Communion devotionally – Regular Worship corporately – Accountability in covenant community Maturing in Christlikeness – By spending time with Him learning from Him how to be like Him. – Practicing instant obedience to the prompting of His Spirit Being involved in His work.
