Describes how training is skill-based Participant behavior rehearsals to criterion with an expert observing Data is collected that demonstrates an increase in the skills of the participants (e.g., post/post testing of skills) Plans are in place to track the participants’ use of new skills B(3) Training Skill-based (NIRN, Guskey) 3

Current CO PBIS Universal trainings are designed from the fidelity tools of PBIS (Benchmarks of Quality, SET), in order to ensure participants have knowledge and skills needed to implement PBIS. Describes Skills 4
5
The skills participants are expected to have as a result of PBIS trainings include: -data-based decision making; data analysis; -developing expectations; -two-way communication between families and school; -designing lesson plans and teaching expectations; -implementing effective procedures for dealing with discipline; -function-based support; and -utilizing positive reinforcement to increase the likelihood a behavior occurs. List the Skills 5
6
Behavior rehearsals were observed by the expert trainers and coaches at universal trainings during the "application of skills" sections of the trainings. Feedback is provided to participants to further hone their skills. Behavior Rehearsals 6
7
Pre and Post training observations (CO Mini-SET) are currently completed by SPDG PBIS coaches for all new buildings trained in universal PBIS implementation. These observations are used to track participant's use of new skills and to validate fidelity of implementation. Increase in Skills and Tracking Use of New Skills 7

Time to assess needs “I can't answer this until we dig in on our own” Support around data (making meaning of it; analyzing; integrating) “Need help with data collection efficiency” How to use data, what data to collect etc (ICs also saw this as a need) More information about MTSS “Training on what MTSS is. General training for all educators.” Continued support from ICs “We will need coaching as we go through the process” “Guidance from our IC as to next steps to keep the work moving forward” Areas for Support/TA 9
