Assessment, Reporting & Target Grades

Bitcoins will be a currency managed by governments, physical transactions with coins and notes may have all but died out.

Maybe Not!

For You. We are with you every step of the way…… Well for 11% of the time anyway!

Educational Changes.  In 2020 Year 7’s will not have a KS2 Level 3, 4 or 5. It will have been a whole new system for 4 years.  In 2020 GCSE grades A* - G will have been gone for nearly 3 years and will have been replaced by numbers 9 – 1.

Aspirations! As a parent do you want your child to progress in line with the vast majority of similar children or would you rather they aim to progress in line with the very top of similar students nationally? We hope you prefer the latter as this is the aspiration we have used to set targets for your youngsters.

Targets 987654321987654321 All Green and Purple should be aiming for a ‘4’ as a minimum from now on. TARGETS

Targets  Set according to the new framework so that Year 7 to 11 is one, uninterrupted pathway.  Set aiming for progress to be in line with top performing similar students nationally.  Has the Grade 4 as the minimum.  Pathway from KS2 to year 11 divided into 5 years with targets for each year set and reviewed yearly.

Targets  KS2 levels have been ‘moved across’ to this new system. Now called PROGRSS BANDS. Example: KS2 Level 5 would aim to achieve a grade 9 by the end of yr11. Numerically leaves very few steps each year We re-calibrated the KS2 national curriculum levels to be in line with the progress bands from the start. It is a ‘re-labelling’ that will look like students have gone down. Remember, it is a totally NEW structure.

Example  A 4c from primary could have an ‘End of year 7 target’ of 3B. One year later and they are targeted to be lower than when they arrived. It is a totally new structure that all staff know about. The Schemes of learning are the national curriculum expectations for year 7 onwards – just labelled as progress bands. Content being secured in progress band 3 will NOT be the new GCSE grade 3 skills BUT will connect to the skills indicative of what a Grade 3 student would be capable of by Year 11. Expect to see your child gradually move up through the bands in year 7 & 8.
