4 DfE Commission on Assessment Without Levels Outputs (https://www.gov.uk/government/groups/commission-on- assessment-without-levels#meeting-dates:)https://www.gov.uk/government/groups/commission-on- assessment-without-levels#meeting-dates principles to support effective systems of assessment why assessment without levels is better than previous approach guidance on school assessment policy development clear information on legal requirements for assessment and on how and when they will change clarity on assessment without levels and Ofsted inspection examples of good practice advice to Government on how teacher training and CPD can support assessment without levels and on ensuring appropriate provision for pupils with SEN

5 Assessment & accountability under the new NC from 2016 – key implications pupil progress in reading, writing and mathematics, rather than attainment, the focus for most schools ‘sufficient progress’ will not be defined in advance so schools need to be able to articulate and justify how they use assessment to improve learning and teaching schools’ pupil progress tracking will need to take account of new, national ‘performance descriptors’ for end of Key Stages 1 and 2 national progress ‘data’ derived from statutory assessment will go through changing forms until 2023 KS1 teacher assessment will continue to carry very high stakes (until at least 2019)
