3. ANALYSIS The box covering her mouth and hateful opinions stand out. Each opinion is a common one that is said to women on a regular basis. The box covers her mouth as to say she has no voice and the hateful comments are trying to replace her own opinions.

4. ANALYSIS CONTINUES The box contains the sentences: Women shouldn’t have rights, vote, work or box. These words are placed right over her mouth, and it looks like a google search. This is showing that these mean comments are silencing her own voice.

5. INFERENCE The creators intentions are to show that women don’t and shouldn’t have rights. The box over the mouth signifies that she isn’t aloud to speak for what she thinks. She doesn’t have the option of freedom of speech, which is a human right.

6. INFERENCE CONTINUES The black background shows that she is in a dark place in her life and the seriousness in her face shows her unhappiness.

The black and white filter adds to the seriousness of this picture and the quote by Alice Walker, a well known feminist, emphasizes that women work hard to be considered equals.

16. EVALUATION The photograph fulfills the creator’s intentions to express freedom of speech and the power of women. The work affects me in a method that causes me to fell more powerful a an individual.
