Business in the Community www.bitc.org.uk Multiple voices, one platform Responsible Business Week (RBW) is a platform to share knowledge, have debates and tackle challenges, engage with customers or employees, launch new initiatives, announce future responsible business ambitions and showcase achievements. Now in its fourth year, RBW galvanises hundreds of businesses from every industry and size, their leaders, This RBW we’re calling on your organisation - whether a business, NGO or university; employees and partners to create a public conversation on the power of responsible business to effect positive change and demonstrate how they are taking action. to run an event or activity to share great ideas and inspire positive action from others.

By joining together, our message is louder, our shared commitment is emphasised and we can reach new audiences, raising the visibility of the movement - building a fairer society and more sustainable future. RBW 2016 is your chance to highlight what responsible business means to your organisation and gain wider recognition.

BUSINESS IN THE COMMUNITY The beating heart of RBW, we host key events, engage the media, bring #RBweek to life online, and inspire businesses to get involved. BITC MEMBERSHIP Business in the Community’s members create an exciting array of events, activities and communications that engage their stakeholders and help RBW to reach a wide audience. BUSINESSES EVERYWHERE All kinds of businesses and organisations run their own activities to highlight the great things they are doing to the audiences that matter to them.

Engage your employees: Communicate what responsible business means to your organisation and it’s positive impact in the local community and environment. Invite an inspiring speaker to talk about an issue that’s important to your business. Invite your employees to an ideas generation workshop brainstorm and uncover fresh perspectives. Be creative! Run a sustainability challenge. Invite your staff to visit your community projects and see how you are putting responsible business into action Celebrate your achievements and say thank you to colleagues with our BITC lapel badges Encourage employees to write, post or tweet about the topic during #RBweek.tweet Reach out to your local community: Invite and encourage local businesses, charities, schools or community partners to come together to share and generate new ideas in a collaboration day or community pop up. Invite your neighbours: Invite your neighbours to learn about how you are supporting local education, reducing your waste or energy usage, or addressing unemployment in your area and inspire them to take action. Join forces with your suppliers: Host a joint workshop to identify and share challenges, cascade ideas for best practice and spark new initiatives.
