7. YOUTH GRANT CYCLE To fund organizations serving children 4th to 12th grade addressing the social, education, and health challenges that impact youth in our region, while working collaboratively with community partners to provide services. Goal to Fund

Selection Criteria These items will cause the applicant’s proposal to receive a higher ranking: Data supporting program impact Programs customized to target populations Proven expertise in the proposed field of work Strong organizational capacity Strong rationale for proposed program and/or approach Integration with other programs, organizations and/or systems

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Three types of grants: Pilot, Planning and Program PROGRAM GRANTS These grants will support organizations offering TPP programs that are:  Comprehensive  Medically accurate  Provide access or referrals to clinical services Grant range: $50,000 to $100,000 Grant duration: Two years

17. Teen Pregnancy Prevention Eligibility Criteria These factors are required: The program is: Medically accurate, comprehensive and free from bias. 20. HUMAN SERVICES Goals to Fund To support capacity-building strategies for organizations serving children 0-8. The funding will focus on board governance, leadership development, and/or fiscal management. * These funds can include the costs associated with contracting outside expertise to support capacity-building activities.

23. OVERVIEW OF THE NEW LOI PROCESS FRF is using a two-page Letter of Interest (LOI) to save organizations time and resources when applying for funding. Steps to submit the LOI: 1)Review FRF’s Eligibility Criteria and the 2013 Human Services Goals to Fund for information on FRF’s funding restrictions and priorities. 2)Complete the LOI, with 12-point font and not to exceed two pages, using the template provided on FRF’s Grantmaking page.FRF’s Grantmaking page. 3)Submit your LOI by emailing to program@fresnoregfoundation.org. Please title your email Human Services LOI—your organization’s name. The deadline to submit your LOI is Wednesday, May 29 at 5 p.m.

24. OVERVIEW OF THE NEW PROCESS Organizations will be notified whether or not they will be invited to submit a full application by Monday, June 10. Further guidance will be provided at that time. An Organizational Profile Form and application will be due by Friday, June 21 at 5 p.m. This grant cycle will fund capacity-building activities for organizations serving children 0-8 as stated in the Goals to Fund. These grants will not fund direct service programs. If consultants will be contracted for this work, please be prepared to include the consultant and the scope of work in the full application.

26. GOALS TO FUND {Environment}

27. {River Restoration} $75,000 for projects and programs working to improve the flow of the San Joaquin and Kings rivers and to enhance the fish population (particularly salmon). Grants range: $10,000 to $25,000 Awarded for a one-year period, although implementation of a program or project may be extended to 18 months.

28. {River Restoration} Goals to Fund Activities related to the acquisition of land for river restoration Activities to restore native fish (particularly salmon) populations and increase water flows Activities that support public access to the Valley portions of the rivers and education and awareness about the importance of the rivers
