Financial Support for specific courses Bursaries are available from: The National Health Service –for NHS & Social Work courses Training & Development Agency for Schools –for postgraduate courses of Initial Teacher Training

Training & Development Agency for Schools Non-means Tested Bursary available to students taking Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Tax free Students usually apply for Bursary at course induction Amount of Bursary dependent on certain conditions Statutory support from Student Finance England is also available

Training & Development Agency for Schools TDA BursarySubjects £9,000 per annum (£225 per week) Mathematics, Science, Design & Technology, Modern Languages, Music, Religious Education £6,000 per annum (£150 per week) All other secondary-phase subjects £4,000 per annum (£100 per week) Primary phase (Rates from 01.08.08)

Social Work Bursaries Non-repayable Bursary available from the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) –Payable to undergraduates and postgraduates Students apply once they have secured a place on a designated Social Work course Please contact NHSBSA for 2009/2010 rates Statutory support from Student Finance England is also available for undergraduates
