The history of Armenia to enter in the IPA started in the begging of 2008. Grigor Sargsyan made attempts to connect the nearest IPA member to negotiate any possibilities to be engaged in the IPA team. There started negotiation process with the representatives of Russian IPA. A weekly visit in this regard was organized to Armenia by the representatives of Russian IPA in 2009.

In 2009 there were already 58 members who agreed to enter in the family of IPA Russia. From 2009 there was launched a close cooperation between Armenian initiators and Russian IPA. The initiator Colonel Grigor Sargsyan launched a number of events and activities to disseminate and familiarize the IPA idea within Armenia since 2009 as: monthly meetings, yearly meetings, educational, cultural, charitable, sport events.

In 2010 January there was held the first yearly meeting of the members in Yerevan managed by Grigor Sargsyan. In 2010 there was launched a number of cultural and sport activities. During summer 2010 the first blood donation in the International Register of stagnant brain was initiated where nearly 50 people participated. In the end of 2010 there was organized a visit to an orphanage in Yerevan.

In the last meeting of 2010 there was reported that Armenian members could raise to 130 as more and more policemen made commitments to become a member and contribute to the IPA mission at their best. The year 2011 was more prosperous. The cultural, sport and charity events went on. There was added policemen’s children’s chess competition, football. The blood donation was raised to 80 people.

There was held an election for the foundation of the General staff of Armenian section foundation. The election was conducted with all the democratic norms. The first president of the IPA Armenian foundation was elected to be colonel G. Sargsyan,

for the position of the General Secretary was elected A.Papyan. There were also elected treasurer Aram Hakobyan and four Vice- Presidents H.Grigoryan, M.Khachatryan, S. Grigoryan, and R. Lazgyan. All elected members o the Committee signed the Declaration of Human Rights.

The President of Armenia Serzh A. Sargsyan is awarding Grigor Sargsyan a Second Rank Cross for Bravery for Country Achievements.

Later that day IPA President Michael Odysseos, Secretary General George Katsaropoulos and the President of Armenian section foundation Grigor Sargsyan were invited to give a press conference and tell about IPA, its history and its mission.

The next day there was held a meeting with the Head of Police of Armenia than Alik Sargsyan and IPA President Michael Odysseos, Secretary General George Katsaropoulos, Russian Police Association President Alexey Gankin and Grigor Sargsyan, where Mr.Alik Sargsyan welcomed the guests and made a commitment to support the Armenian section foundations.

The next day there was organized sightseeing’s in Armenia, especially Brandy Company "Ararat", The guests visited Garni temple, went to Lake Sevan and other places of interest.

During the election and the meeting for the foundation of Armenian section foundation there was present more than 120 policemen and veterans. The guests were satisfied with what they have seen in Armenia.

With already 126 members in 2011 there was launched a number of new activities to disseminate the IPA information throughout Armenia. Seminars were held in Tavush, Gegharkunik, Shirak regions and in the capital Yerevan.

In 2012 in addition to the yearly events there also: There have been established new branches in the regions of Tavush and Gegharkunik, New branches have been established in town of Gyumri, Artik and Vardenis as well.

There have been organized several sport and cultural competitions and activities, in particular, chess, football, shooting, where members of the Armenian section foundation as well as the members of their families took active role

Introductory meetings were held in various cities of the country as well as in the educational institutions, the main aim was to introduce students to the law and human rights and the Charter of IPA,

There were held lectures at the Academy of the RA Police,

The staff of the IPA Armenia had organized a visit to orphanages, boarding schools, kindergartens A blood donation in the International Register of stagnant brain was organized. A number of donors of the in 2012 were 200 people.

The General board of IPA Armenia had organized a bro bono legal free service for IPA Armenian members and their families through the country for a week in 15 October 2012. There was also held a week long free medical examination for poor families of IPA members in 3 rd December 2012. There were chosen volunteers to support this event. The volunteers included experienced lawyers, professors as well as experienced doctors.

The Armenian section of the IPA is ready to fulfill all instructions and requirements of IPA for peace in the world.

I would also like to mention that this conference is a great gift for Armenia and its independence. On the 21 of September it is the 22 anniversary of Armenian independence and being admitted in the family of IPA would be one of the greatest gifts for Armenia.
