Maya Calendar Legends and dreams about this event Apocalypse in films

December 21st 2012 is the date when you should check out an event of unknown nature and global proportions, it can produce in a spiritual sense the end of the world. The expected event is linked in time to the end of one cycle of the Maya calendar. This legend hasn’t been supported either by science or by the scholars of Maya history. Mayans measured time using a system of three calendars. The Maya calendar is a solar calendar of 365 days divided into 18 periods of 20 days each. A second calendar, called (LONG COUNT) calculates the time elapsed from the date of creation of the world according to Maya mythology.

Why were eclipses so important to the ancient people of Stonehenge? Perhaps they considered the darkening of the Sun or the Moon a fearsome event, a celestial omen of doom or disaster. Many cultures have interpreted eclipses this way. But the sophistication of the astronomy of Stonehenge suggests that the builders had something different in mind. Their understanding of the solar and lunar cycles must have led to a high regard for the cosmic order. For most parts of the year, the sunrise can't even be seen from the centre of the monument. But on the longest day of the year, the June 21st summer solstice, the rising sun appears behind the Heel Stone, creating the illusion that it is balancing on the stone. The Heel Stone sits along the Avenue, that extends from the northeast corner of the main monument. The rising sun creeps up the length of the rock, creating a shadow that extends deep into the heart of five pairs of stone trilithons - two pillar stones with one laid across the top in the shape of a horseshoe that opens up towards the rising sun. Just as the Sun clears the horizon, it appears to hover momentarily on the tip of the Heel Stone. A few days later, on midsummer's day, the sun will appear once again, but this time, it will begin to move to the right of the heel stone. The countdown to doomsday has begun. The same phenomenon happens again during the winter solstice, only it's in the opposite direction and at sunset. In a few years (2012) due to the wobble of the earth on its axis and certain other important alignments, the giant Heelstone will no longer cast its shadow within the circle of stones. It will mean that time has run out.

Global warming causes damage to the environment and animal species, quickly the harmful rays of our sun and other environmental risks could seriously affect the “balance of the planet”. Global warming already impacts heavily on climate changes and weather conditions. There are those who support the prophecy of “war of the Apocalypse” by putting it in a specific area of the world the end of the world could be from space for example the fall of a huge asteroid. The sun could increase its activity and literally burn life on the planet. Recently, sun astronomers have determined that a collision between the earth and another planet could become reality. NASA scientists are beginning to realise the danger posed by these two problems: a worsening of the magnetosphere of the planet and a sudden increase in solar activity in 2012, these two problems will be the real concern as we approach 2012. Recently scientists have found two great losses in the earth’s magnetosphere, the space around our planet that protects us from solar storms. An astronomical event of impact is the collision of a large meteorite, asteroid, comet or other celestial objects class against another or against the planet Earth. An astronomical impact against an ocean or sea can generate tsunamis that can cause destruction at sea in the coastal areas. While the kinetic energy of bodies that hit the earth can be estimated with good approximation, there are many questions about the properties of acidic or basic substances that make up the asteroids and their effect on the flora and fauna. Many scientists agree that without a drastic reduction in emissions by 2020, we are on a rise in temperature of 4 degrees by mid- century, with catastrophic consequences, including the disappearance of coral reefs, melting more ice, the total loss of Arctic sea ice, much of the West Antarctic and Greenland, acidification and warming of the oceans, the collapse of the Amazon rainforest and the disappearance of the Arctic land ice, just to name a few. Each of these ecosystems collapse could trigger an uncontrolled process of overheating.

Since then astrologers have studied this prophecy, numerologists have found the models that announce it, geologists argue that it is an expected event on Earth and even the government scientists can’t deny the cataclysm of cosmic proportions that awaits our planet in 2012. One prophecy born with the Maya calendar has now been well defined, discussed and examined. Once we have reached 2012, we can’t deny we were informed.

Original Title: I am Legend Director: Francis Lawrence Photographer: Andrew Lesnie Clothes: Michael Kaplan Music: James Newton Howard Film Editing: Wayne Wahrman Cast: Will Smith, Alice Braga, Dash Mihok, Charlie Tahan, Salli Richardson Production: Warner Bros Italia Distribution: Warner Bros Italia Year: Usa 2007 Movie Length: 101 Min Gender: Action Plot: Robert Neville is a brilliant scientist, who unfortunately can’t contain the terrible unstoppable and incurable virus created by the world population. For some strange reason, Neville is immune and is the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and maybe in the world. For three years, Neville sends daily radio messages to other possible survivors that could be everywhere. But he isn’t alone. Mutant victims of the epidemic - the Infected - hovering in the shadows, watching Neville's movement, waiting for it carries the fatal mistake. As a last hope for all humanity, Neville follows only one mission: to find ways to counteract the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows that he is lonely and inferior to the enemy.

ORIGINAL TITLE: The Day After Tomorrow YEAR: U.S.A 2004 GENDER: tragical DIRECTOR: Roland Emmerich CAST: Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Holm, Emmy Rossum PLOT: The research carried out by climatologist Jack Hall indicate that global warming could trigger an unexpected and catastrophic climate change on the planet. The excavations conducted by him in the ice of Antarctica show that something has happened about 10,000 years ago. Hall gives the warning to politicians: if they aren’t present and soon it could happens again. But his warning comes late. It all begins when Hall observed a piece of ice of the size of the U.S. state of Rhode Island separate itself from Arctic ice cover. Soon after, there is a series of sudden and bad weather events. A phone call from a Scottish colleague, Prof. Rapson, confirms all the worst fears of Hall: These weather disturbances are symptoms of a global climate change. While Hall is in White House to give a further warning his son Sam, 17, is trapping in New York, with some of his classmates would have to participate in a student competition. Sam must instead face a huge flood and a sharp drop in temperatures. He took refuge in the New York Public Library, Sam manages can call his father, but has time only to give him some advice: whatever happens, Sam has to stay indoors. The city's population began to be evacuated to the southern regions of the country. Meanwhile Jack and his friends are very near to New York. The next day, at dawn on their way towards the library, being able to meet Sam and other people closed in the library…
