Interesting Facts Earthquakes can cause major damage. Earthquakes are caused by the tectonic plates movements. More than 300 people can die in an earthquake. There are 18 tectonic plates. Earthquakes can be controlled by the core of the Earth. Their can be cracks in the earth.

Earthquake safety Kids have to hide under desks. If you are outside and close to a window. If you see an earthquake coming near you stay away so you don’t get hurt. If you are in a building and an earthquake came and you are at the building get to the top of the building try to stay safe.

What is an earthquake An earthquake is something that can cause major damage.

Earthquake experiment materials One bouncy ball Bucket of mud Scissors Legos[buildings] Hands Tray

Experiment hypothesis We think the Legos will fall in the middle of the mud.

Earthquake procedures First you put the bouncy ball on the tray. Then you put the bucket of mud on the bouncy ball. Next you cut the mud vertically into two equal parts. Then you put the Legos[buildings] on the crack. Finally you move the mud back and forward.

Effects from earthquakes In San Francisco, California,1906 bridges collapsed and several building fell that trapped people. Their was one in Japan witch caused a tsunami. A building can fall in 5 seconds.
