Secondary objectives  To understand the workflow of the functional modules of SAP.  To create and understand the flow of material master record through SAP MM module.  To create and maintain the vendor master record through SAP MM module.  To generate and manage the purchase order through SAP MM module.  To know the concept of releasing and understand how to release through SAP MM module.  To provide valuable suggestions for further improvements of SAP applications in their organization.

Scope  SAP MM or the material management module is the part of logistics and supply chain management module, and therefore it is integrated to a number of related modules of SAP.  It supports the functionalities of material management, planning, control, goods receiving, inventory and purchasing.  It conducts the functionalities such as final payment and invoice verification after material acquisition.  The implementation of ERP systems has helped small and mid sized companies, significantly improve their business metrics by process optimization, improving the entire supply chain process, better inventory control, better reporting to take decisions, integration across functionalities and increasing transparency across the company.  Purchase department can see the sales department data, Sales department can see inventory data, and top management can see any data on a click of single button.

Limitations  Systems can be difficult to use for non-technical persons.  Systems are too restrictive and do not allow much flexibility in implementation and usage.  Some authorization will not be given for the end user  We should not reveal even single data without prior permission of the superior General Manager (GM) or Operations Manager (OM).  If the user name and password typed wrongly for more than 3 times we cannot enter into the software without main branch permission.

14. Suggestions The success of the system is also wholly dependent on how the employees utilize it. This means that employees must be properly trained and continually trained on how to use it. The cost of pre and post training for users is a huge sum. Even if a company has enough money to implement ERP, they may not be able to successfully use it if they do not have enough money to train their employees on the process of using it. It is also important to note the time taken to implement the system in the company. These means large amounts of employees have to shun their regular labor and undertake training. Customization of the ERP software is limited. Some customization may involve changing of the ERP software structure which is usually not allowed. Resistance in sharing sensitive internal information between departments can reduce the effectiveness of the software. It is suggested for the Personnel turnover; companies can employ new managers lacking education in the company's ERP system, proposing changes in business practices that are out of synchronization with the best utilization of the company's selected
