Overview Estate Owned by: Herbert, Hilde and Christof Tiefenbrunner Wine Region: Trentino Alto-Adige Winemaker: Christof Tiefenbrunner and Stefan Rohregger Total Acreage Under Vine: 100 Estate Founded: 1848 Winery Production: 750,000 Bottles

Location The winery is located in Entiklar, a hamlet belonging to the town of Kurtatsch in the South Tyrolean province of Bozen. Tiefenbrunner’s vineyards are located along the enchanting Sudtyroler Weinstrasse, the wine route of South Tyrol. The estate produces about 700,000 bottles per year, 70% of them contain fine and zesty whites, the remaining 30% are lively and elegant red wines.

History The estate has belonged to the family since 1675. Founded in 1848, the Tiefenbrunner Castle Turmhof Winery owes its name to the ancient castle that hosts the Tiefenbrunner family. Great wines have been produced at Castle Turmhof for at least 300 years.

History Hilde and Herbert Tiefenbrunner set off a new direction in 1968 with the opening of a wine outlet at the Turmhof. Wines intended for sale off the premises were now bottled. The reputation of this house has only grown. Herbert’s son Christof direct the significant and extensive winemaking that has kept this winery in the elite group of the zone.

Philosophy The philosophy of the family, in the vineyards as well as in the cellar, is to relentlessly improve the grape quality and to highlight the varietal character of each wine.

Owners Christian and Herbert Tiefenbrunner are the father and son team behind the modern day Tiefenbrunner winery. Born in Bolzano in 1965, Christof Tiefenbrunner attended the Commercial School in the Alto Adige region at Ora, followed by the Laimburg School of Agriculture Horticulture and Viticulture. Christof’s winemaking training also included three months at the Castello di Volpaia in Tuscany in 1985, and three months at a winery at Augsburg, Germany in 1983.

Key Selling Points 1.Benchmark producer. 2.Internationally acclaimed winery. 3.Wines pair well with food 4.Alto Adige wines share profile with Austrian styles, and their precision and elegance are well placed on many wines lists. 5.Incredible value for the money should be the key positioning for the core whites in a very crowded category. 6.Strategic offerings of the Castel Trumhof and Linticlarus wines should be made to top on premise accounts, particularly but not exclusively those with Italian focus.
