Fermi/Swift/XMM/EPOESS/NuSTAR 1) Cominsky attended the meeting Swift: 10 years of Discovery and presented a poster entitled “10 years of Communications and Outreach with Swift.” The meeting was held in Rome, Italy, 12/1-5/14. Aurore Simonnet designed the poster and also helped with conference item designs. 2) Kevin McLin participated in the AGU Exploration Station event, doing the X-ray and Gamma-ray demos on 12/14/14. 3) An article about Cominsky’s WIA award appeared in the Zonta Newsletter: https://mlsvc01- prod.s3.amazonaws.com/40736f60101/e0e3a4ed-1fec-473c-b053-92283e8ea813.pdf and also on the Great River Learning blog page (they are the publishers of Big Ideas in Cosmology):https://mlsvc01- prod.s3.amazonaws.com/40736f60101/e0e3a4ed-1fec-473c-b053-92283e8ea813.pdf http://www.greatriverblog.com/big-ideas-in-cosmology-author-wins-wias-aerospace-awareness-award/ 4) The proposals for free S4 kits from the top 25 TARC teams were evaluated and the winners informed. We will be sending 3 kits to Jerry Liang from Newark Memorial High School (CA), Ryan Reed from Northview High School (OH) and Steve Bullock from Elena L. Christian Jr. High School (American Virgin Islands). The launches will occur in June 2015 at Black Rock, NV. Contact: Lynn Cominsky lynnc@universe.sonoma.edu

STScI (HST/JWST) On December 2, STScI’s Office of Public Outreach held its monthly Public Lecture Series. STScI’s Dr. Joshua Peek was the featured speaker, presenting a talk entitled “Outer Space!" to members of the Baltimore community. Dr. Frank Summers served as host and presented a short summary of recent astronomical discoveries called "News from the Universe.” Lithographs of supernova remnant 0509 (aka the red bubble) were distributed to the live audience of approximately 95 attendees. Additionally, the event was webcast and the recordings are available in the STScI webcast archive. Contact: Hussein Jirdeh jirdeh@stsci.edu Bonnie Eisenhamer bonnie@stsci.edu

Highlights and Nuggets The submission of E/PO highlights and nuggets to NASA HQ is a voluntary exercise that our community participates in on a monthly basis. Highlights are submitted by Astrophysics missions and program offices to help NASA stay up-to-date on these E/PO activities. Nuggets are sent separately, and are submitted by missions, program offices, ROSES awards, and Forums to assist SMD in communicating the accomplishments of its E/PO program. Below is a list of the Astrophysics missions and program offices that submit highlights and/or nuggets. The frequency of submissions is at the discretion of the E/PO lead. Advance Composition Explorer (ACE) Chandra X-ray Observatory Exoplanet Exploration Fermi/Swift/XMM Kepler NASA Goddard Astrophysics Science Division (ASD) Planck Space Telescope Science Institute (HST/JWST) Spitzer Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) WISE
