2 Development of Your Skills Throughout the course you’ll learn new skills and improve existing skills to enable you to progress successfully with your GCSE. The workshops and intensive lessons will introduce you to a range of materials and working methods. You will develop independence and confidence in your own Art skills. This kind of learning builds self-motivation, commitment and initiative that allows you to develop your projects independently, guided and supported by your Art teacher. Aims of the Course

3 Details of the Course Keeping your Knowledge! Your Sketchbook will not only become a visual record of your progress and achievements, but will serve you as a working Art handbook. You will use this throughout your GCSE to refer to methods and materials and help you to realise your ideas and intentions, helping you to plan, research, explore, experiment with methods, to evaluate and come to realisation. It will be your responsibility to write down instructions, illustrate or photograph methods; so you can use it in the future.

4 Details of the Course The GCSE Art Foundation Course will be broken in to 6 mini courses; each specialising on a specific set of skills and materials. The whole course will be centred around the theme ‘Details in the…’ with each mini course focusing on a different set of ‘Details’. Course One : DRAWING Details in Fruit and Vegetables Course Two : PAINTING Details in Natural Forms Course Three : DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY Details in Landscape Course Four : DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY Details in People Course Five : CERAMICS Course Six : PRINTMAKING
