7 Product update Type1 Straight Hair 2 Wavy Hair 3 Curly Hair 4 Very Curly Hair A Fine/Thin Hair tends to be very soft, shiny & difficult to hold a curl, hair also tends to be oily & difficult to damage Hair has a definite ‘S’ pattern. Normally can accomplish various styles Loose curls – Hair tends to have a combination texture, it can be thick & full with lots of body, with a definite ‘S’ pattern. It also tends to be frizzy Soft – Hair tends to be very fragile, tightly coiled & has a more define curly pattern B Medium Hair has lots of volume & body Hair tends to be frizzy & a little resistant to styling Tight curls – Also tends to have a combination texture, with a medium amount of curl Wiry – Also very fragile 7 tightly coiled, however with a less defined curly pattern – has more of a ‘Z’ pattern shape C Coarse Hair is normally extremely straight & difficult to curl, Asian hair usually falls into this category Hair is resistant to styling & normally very frizzy, tends to have thicker waves

13 Traineeships – the offer Traineeships are a response to: The Holt Review The need for Pre-Apprenticeship programmes Prepare 16- 24 year olds for work (initially 16-19 year olds from August) English and maths (for those who have not yet achieved GCSE C or equivalent) English and maths (for those who have not yet achieved GCSE C or equivalent) Intensive work skills training High quality work placement Could include: other education and training, vocational qualifications, mentoring, job search support and careers guidance Apprenticeships Employment Further Education Apprenticeships Employment Further Education English & Maths: Work Placement: Work preparation/ employability:

14 INTIAL ASSESMENT & BEHAVIOUR Provider and employer agree the traineeships content Work preparation – personal development of the individual Initial assessment Apprenticeship offer Move into ‘other employment Full time education and training INTO WORK? Work Experience (Work Ready) Interview and/or aptitude test Programme matches the student aspiration/needs Employability /PSD + English and Maths to underpin work placement Duration 6 weeks to 5 months Written agreement between individual, employer and provider Once training commences the objective is to move to employment as quickly as possible Preparing the individual - work placement Must be a ‘real’ work placement Offer of guaranteed interview With host employer Employer must be identified Before student is recorded on traineeship
