2. Built in the 1920s, The Emily Morgan Hotel, once a medical facility and now a San Antonio architectural landmark, is also known as one of the most haunted places in the city. It’s location near the Alamo also contributes to the supernatural occurrences of this hotel, which add to it’s fame. 6. My Response- Do not copy! The narrator is a very deranged and mentally unstable individual, which leads him to murder the old man with the vulture eye. Page 294 he expresses that “the disease had sharpened my senses-not dulled them.” It is quite evident that he knows that he is mad and insane. Unable to stop the vulture eye from torturing his soul, he decides the only alternative is to kill the man and “rid himself of the eye forever” (295). Because he is a delusional person, he feels justified in taking the life of the old man and it isn’t until the cops arrive that he fully realizes the depths of his madness.
