Student Background  The teachers that made the most positive impact on my life were my 3 rd grade teacher, Ms. Nolan, and my 6 th grade teacher, Mr. Andrews.  They made a lasting impression on me because they were both very caring as teachers. They were always very involved and engaged. They seemed to truly love what they were doing and want to teach their students.  This taught me the impact that a teacher can have on a student, how the attitude and approach of a teacher can motivate and inspire their students

5. Degree Program  I am enrolled in the Masters of Education program  One position that I am contemplating is an Air Force Junior ROTC instructor at a public high school  From the research that I have done, having a Master’s degree will give me an advantage in being hired and will result in a bonus in pay  If I decide to pursue some other job, I still feel that having my advanced degree will put me a step above other applicants for that position

Quote  A quote that I like is an approach that I feel Education is changing towards  “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” ― Margaret MeadMargaret Mead  I think that education in the past was the opposite, teaching kids information, something to memorize. I feel what the quote states is more important.
