3 OHSMS at Monash University  The Monash University Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) provides a strategic, coordinated and systematic approach to managing health and safety risks.  What our OHSMS looks like: –Policy –Procedures, guidelines, information and systems –Training & Induction programs –Health and Wellbeing programs –Faculty OHS Consultants & Advisors  Monash is the only University in the Southern Hemisphere to hold both International and National certification of our OHSMS. 19 th April 2016Monash Business School: Graduate Research Student Induction3

7 What to do?  Induction Induction –Online OHS induction –Local Area OHS Induction  Report Hazards & Incidents (S.A.R.A.H.) –Access the S.A.R.A.H System through the my.monash portal, or from the OHS home page.my.monash portal,  Manage Your Risks –Risk assessments must be completed on S.A.R.A.H. via the WHS Risk RegisterS.A.R.A.H. –A risk control program tool is available to assist you on OH&S website –OHS Advisor can help you with your assessment  The primary aim of the induction is to provide a brief overview of occupational health and safety policies, procedures and practices at Monash and to provide a basic understanding of occupational health and safety responsibilities. 19 th April 2016Monash Business School: Graduate Research Student Induction7
