10 Crop Clip Art Trimming or cropping a picture hides a part of the image. The cropped portion is neither displayed on screen nor printed, but remains part of the original image.

14 Create WordArt WordArt is a drawing tool used to create special effects with text. A variety of WordArt styles can be used and modified by editing the text or changing the shape, wrapping style, size, color, position, and shape.

23 Draw AutoShapes AutoShapes are ready-made shapes used for special effects in a document. The seven AutoShape categories are lines, connectors, basic shapes, block arrows, flowchart symbols, stars and banners, and callouts. The drawing canvas keeps multiple shapes together and enables the formatting or modification of the objects as a group.

25 Resize and Move Shapes A shape can be selected and modified. Multiple objects can be selected by pressing [Shift] and clicking each object. The Select Objects button on the Drawing toolbar can select multiple shapes by drawing box around the objects. A selected drawing object has sizing handles for reshaping.

28 Rotate and Flip Shapes An object can be rotated left or right by 90 degrees, or flipped horizontally or vertically. An object can be rotated freely by choosing Rotate or Flip from the Draw menu on the Drawing toolbar. The rotate handle extends from an object and has a green circle.

29 Format Shapes Shapes can be formatted using the Drawing toolbar or the Format AutoShape dialog box. Formatting shapes includes: Fill color Line color Font color Line width and style Shadow or 3-D effects.

32 Create a Diagram The six types of diagrams used in Word are: Organizational, Cycle, Target, Radial, Venn, and Pyramid. A diagram can be inserted by choosing Diagram from the Insert menu, or clicking the Insert Diagram or Organization Chart button on the Drawing toolbar.

35 Create Charts A chart is a visual representation of numeric data. A chart can be created in a Word document by inserting a generic chart as an object. Word uses Microsoft Graph to create and edit the chart. Chart data can be entered in a table called a datasheet.

44 Summary Word provides ready-to-use pictures called clip art. Clip Art can be selected, sized, cropped, restored, or moved. When a picture is trimmed or cropped, a part of it is hidden. Clip Art can be restored to its original size by selecting the picture and clicking the Reset Picture button. WordArt is a drawing tool used to create special effects with text.
