Do Now What sorts of things do you think cell membranes might need to let in or out?

Learning Target Today I will build on my knowledge of how cell membranes work.

Did you finish your lab? If you didn’t, you may quickly finish before moving on to the next assignment. However, the next assignment is partially in the book so it cannot be taken home – you may want to do the lab report at home instead.

Membrane Information: You will read several “Science Information” green boxes in the book looking for specific things. Write down the page numbers and directions in your notes: Pg. 110 – read green box and explain “simple diffusion” Pg. 111 – read green box and explain “facilitated diffusion/passive transport” Pg. 113 – read green box and explain “active transport” Pg. 114 – read green box and explain “endocytosis/exocytosis”

Do Now Which process (from yesterday) of moving things in/out of cells would you think uses the most energy?

Learning Target Today I will make a cell transport infographic.

With this Information: Once you have collected the important information, create an Infographic to explain (using visuals) the different processes. An Infographic uses words, arrows, pictures, data, jokes, etc., to explain a topic.

Example: This graphic uses words and pictures to explain recycling. If you can use data, that is a good thing as well. It should be eye catching, but more importantly, informational.

Do Now What could help to make an “infographic” more eye catching?

Learning Target Today I will finish my infographic on cell membranes.
