NHLP Course 1 Food Hygiene Detailed Awareness Level 2 CIEH Certificated Course 1 Day. For all Catering, Housekeeping, TQ21 staff and Health Care Professionals that have direct responsibility for the production, service and/or supervision of food related duties including staff who handle and prepare food/beverages including clients meals. New starters attend within 3 months. Subsequent 2 yearly. See prospectus NHLP Course 1. NHLP Course 2a. Food Hygiene Awareness 1 Hour. Is a one hour interactive workshop for all Catering, Housekeeping, TQ21 staff and Health Care Professionals that handle and prepare food and beverages who require a refresher course having previously attended the Detailed Awareness Level 2 or require Food Hygiene Awareness. FHA is an instructor led training event (ILT). This course should also be completed following previous completion of the 'e-assessment' online when training requires updating. See prospectus NHLP 2a. NHLP Course 2b. E-assessment – Food Hygiene Awareness The e-assessment has been developed to test food safety competency, previously gained at a ILT event. If the required pass mark is not achieved staff are automatically directed to ILT. If the e-assessment has been successfully achieved staff will be required to attend face to face training in two years. See prospectus NHLP 2b. 28.1.14 Nutrition and Hydration Learning Pathway Nutrition and Hydration Learning Pathway (NHLP) Courses NHLP Course 3 Nutrition Awareness 3.5 Hours For all TQ21 staff who require knowledge of nutrients and support clients healthy eating. This workshop will enable staff to understand the reasons for, and components of a healthy diet. It will also enable staff to empower service users to plan their meals, shop on a budget, and make healthy food choices. See prospectus NHLP 3. NHLP Course 4 Nutrition Awareness Refresher 1 Hour. For all TQ21 staff who have previously attended the Nutrition Awareness Course and are required to update their knowledge and skills. See prospectus NHLP 4. According to your role, start at Course 1, Course 2 or Course 3. For detail of target audience for each course, please refer to the appropriate prospectus on the LEaD website. NHLP Course 5. Planning and Delivering Nutritional Care 4 Hours For TQ 21 and all Health Care Professionals who are required to achieve clinical competency in supporting the patients’ nutritional needs, demonstrating skills in screening and planning effective individualised care. See prospectus NHLP 5. This course links to NHLP Course 6 (e-learning) for those who want to update their knowledge of the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool. NHLP Course 7. Enteral Nutrition (E-learning) For all Health Care Professionals who support Naso-gastric tube insertion and maintenance (NHLP 7) and gastrostomy care (to come). NHLP Course 8. Dysphagia Assessment/Care. A training package is in creation with supporting documentation. For TQ21, all Health Care Professionals who support Clients with dysphagia.
