1. Tuesday 3 rd September Welcome Year 7 Father, we ask you to bless us as we take a new step in our lives today. Keep in us a sense of wonder at the marvels of life. Help us to be keen to explore the world of knowledge. Lead us to make good use of our talents and work well with others. Bless us that we may grow strong in your love and in concern for the good of all people. May we learn from each other and grow in friendship with Jesus, your Son and our Brother. Amen.

2. Wednesday 4 th September Dear Lord, guide our school with a vision that is built on love: Where everyone is protected. A school where the benefits of civilised life are shared and everyone can enjoy themselves; a school where tolerance and mutual respect exist; a school where peace and justice go together, and justice is guided by love. Give us the inspiration and courage to build a community of love. Amen.

3. Thursday 5 th September We pray to God our Father for all the people who help make St. Matthew's to be our special family. Father, may our school be a family which offers caring as well as learning; which offers safety as well as knowledge; which shares Faith as well as instruction, we make this prayer in Jesus' name. Those who are quick with math have already figured out that September 8 is exactly nine months after December 8-the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. 5. Father of mercy, give your people help and strength from heaven. The birth of the Virgin Mary's Son was the dawn of our salvation. May this celebration of her birthday bring us closer to lasting peace. Grant this though our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
