Background Establishment of MCIT in Egypt on 1999. ICT Master Plan of Egypt (1999-2000). –Infrastructure. –Legal & regulatory reform. –Human resource development. –Development of local demand. –Outreach to international market & development of ICT export. –International Alliance with technology providers.

Human Resource Development Program at MCIT Objectives: –Assist in creating an advanced IT Industry in Egypt –Improve job opportunities to young graduates by increasing their ICT awareness and technical know-how –Avail the necessary infrastructure –Avail the needed Skilled Human Resources –Avail latest technologies to Egyptian workforce in ICT to improve their competitiveness

Human Resource Development Program at MCIT IT Training: –Basic Level (awareness) Program: 300 hours of basic training in IT & soft skills. Implemented by around 115 organizations around the country. 20000 trainees annually. Preparation for ICDL Certificate.

Human Resource Development Program at MCIT IT Training: –Skilled Users (Super-User) Program: 300 hours of higher level user-oriented training. Towards specific professions (tracks). Ends by an International Certificate ( A+, Network+,MOUS,..). Examples (Office automation and Hardware and maintenance, Graphics,..etc)

Human Resource Development Program at MCIT IT Training: –Professional Training Program: Young University Graduates. 5000 trainees annually. 18-20 tracks. 800-1000 hours of training. Four stages: –Soft Skills and Language. –Basic IT. –Specialized phase. –Project. –Certification.

Human Resource Development Program at MCIT IT Training: –Professional Training Program: Implemented by private sector through a public tender. Management is outsourced to NTI. Regular revision of track distribution and content. Round duration is six months.

Human Resource Development Program at MCIT IT Training: –Professional Training Program: Selection criteria: –Young Graduates (most recent four years). –Three tests (English – IQ – Basic IT). –Interviews. –Age. –Graduation Grade. –University & Faculty.

Trainees’ Distribution 900 hours should be covered in six months (six months is equal to 26 weeks). 35 hours Training per week. 7 hours Training per Day. Friday and Saturday are usually the weekends. Saturdays can be used as supplementary day to cover any deviation or days off. Total Training is 7hr x 5D x 26W = 910hr 900hr for Training and 10hr reserved for testing time Professional Training Program at MCIT
