9 Early Experience and Implications Increase of awareness (professionals, employers, employees) No change of behaviours but in knowledge and attitudes Stronger networks in the country (put together professionals), better synergies, enthusiasm Prioritization of the issue (health ministry – CRO) Better knowledge of pathways to services Introducing policies where there were not Moving from punitive to supportive alcohol workplace policies Better implementation of the policies Know better what else needs to be done to address this matter Training with managers very important but “unpredictable results” It is an European issue, not only at country level FOLLOW-UP EVALUATION TOOLS

10 RECOMMENDATIONS GENERAL Review of the legal framework in the country and Europe (inconsistencies, interpretation, who is in charge, what prevails, etc) Identify and involve existing networks and structures (OH, addiction, etc) Prepare the arguments for the companies (+/-) Prepare strategy on how to implement policies Capacity building on alcohol among OH professionals Training managers Guidance on what to do and possible interventions Creating a network of advocates and champions in the country Consolidating and clarifying referral pathways Sharing (learning) experiences activities (conference, etc) SYNERGIES

11 RECOMMENDATIONS PARTICULAR Assessment of the policy (in line with the existing laws) Deal with trade unions specially if opposing (and no good relations) Clear plan and clear deadlines – signing an agreement CLEAR PLAN

12 PROBLEMS Some mistakes when translating the questionnaire (missed questions, etc) Hand over the project (Scotland) Money – 2 nd payment urgent Clarification of the deliverables for the project (workplan, etc) WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
