Our Explore Rowing Offer We will work with Universities to; (1) Develop Community Club / University Partnerships (2) Apply for Sport England capital grants (3) Apply for Sport England coaching grants (4) Develop leadership opportunities for students (5) Apply for Sportivate coaching grants

Our Indoor Rowing Gold Challenge offer If Sport Centres sign up to the Gold Challenge we will; (1)Provide free basic training to groups of staff (2)Subsidise costs for REPS / UKCC awards (3)Provide marketing and promotional materials (4)Where possible work to involve the University Boat Club and/or Community Club

Row for Gold - Aims 1.Make clubs and members feel part of the Olympic experience 2.Increase the profile of rowing as an inclusive sport for the general public 3.Help clubs to promote rowing in their local communities 4.Encourage people to try rowing (water and/or indoor) 5.Encourage new people to join clubs, both as rowers and volunteers 6.Keep our young rowers - and bring lapsed rowers back into clubs

Regattas Regattas and events held during the summer of 2012 are offered the opportunity to become ‘Row for Gold’ Regattas – providing taster sessions and other opportunities to find out more about rowing Activators Events will be asked to appoint a ‘Row for Gold Activator’ who will be the main point of contact for British Rowing and other organisations who might be interested in supporting the event.

Learn to Row British Rowing will support Clubs(inc Universities) who would like to offer ‘Row for Gold’ Learn to Row courses and taster sessions, and/or social rowing events to attract new local people and volunteers. Challenges Clubs and individuals who are undertaking personal challenges, etc particularly aimed at raising money for charity

What help is available ? 1.A dedicated area of www.britishrowing.org, using social media networks, will promote ‘Row for Gold’ regattas and events 2.Linking Olympians and their local clubs 3.‘Row for Gold’ marketing materials; posters, flyers, web banners and templates. Each registered ‘Row for Gold’ club will receive a starter marketing pack with more available to download 4.How to organise your own challenge with www.explorerowing.org

2012 - How to get involved Ask your Director of Sport about the Gold Challenge Brand your competition Row for Gold Consider branding your Freshers courses Get all members to take out individual registration Consider personally applying to help in the summer of 2012 as a PAID coach
